About This ModMount Base
This base attaches directly to a compatible firearm receiver, Picatinny rail, or dovetail. Its recessed oval interface accepts any ModMount optic-side mount.
How the Two-Part System Works
The optic-side mount has a matching oval stud that seats in the base. Two flat-head M4 screws secure the connection. Without a spacer, the correct interface-screw length is normally 6mm to 8mm. Any ModMount optic-side mount works with any ModMount base, and an optional spacer can be installed between them when additional height or a 45-degree offset is needed.
This purchase includes the base only unless additional components are specifically listed. An optic-side mount is required, and spacers are optional.
Choose the Correct Base
Confirm that the base matches the firearm receiver, Picatinny rail, or dovetail before ordering. Receiver-specific bases must match the stated firearm platform. Rail and dovetail bases must match the rail type and clamping style shown with the selection.
Installation Notes
Unload the firearm and follow the firearm manufacturer's instructions before removing a rail, sight, or other receiver-mounted component. Install the base with the supplied receiver hardware or clamping system, then confirm that it is fully seated and secure.
Seat the optic-side mount directly in the base, or place an optional spacer between them, and secure the assembly with two flat-head M4 screws. Attach the optic and check screw length before final assembly. No screw should protrude far enough to contact the firearm or another component.
Review the ModMount system guide for component selection and the installation instructions for torque values, screw-length checks, and optional thread locker guidance.
Designed and Manufactured in the USA
The machined ModMount base body is made from 6061-T6 aluminum in our Lincoln, Nebraska shop, then sandblasted and finished with H-Series Cerakote for wear and corrosion resistance. Clamp components and supplied hardware are excluded from this material statement.
