The ModMount System

A complete ModMount setup uses two interchangeable components: a base that fits the firearm or rail and an optic-side mount that fits the optic footprint. Every base works with every optic-side mount. Add a spacer only when you need additional height or a 45-degree offset.

1. Choose Your Base

The base attaches to the firearm receiver, Picatinny rail, or dovetail. Choose the base that matches your firearm or rail interface. The base does not determine which optic you can use.

Picatinny bases are available with a screw-tightened Standard clamp or a tool-free Quick Detach lever. Both use the same M4 x 8mm ModMount interface hardware.

2. Choose Your Optic-Side Mount

The optic-side mount carries the screw and recoil-lug pattern for the optic. Choose the footprint that matches your optic. If more than one screw thread is available, choose the thread required by the optic.

3. Add a Spacer if Needed

A spacer is optional. Vertical spacers raise the optic and can be stacked. The 45-degree spacer moves the optic to an angled position. Every spacer works with every base and optic-side mount, and each spacer includes installation screws.

How the Components Connect

The optic-side mount has an oval stud that seats in the recessed oval interface on the base. Two flat-head M4 screws secure the connection.

Without a spacer, the correct screw length is normally 6mm to 8mm. For a vertical spacer, add the total spacer height to that range. A 4mm spacer requires 10mm-to-12mm screws. When stacking vertical spacers, use their combined height.

Before final assembly, confirm that every screw seats correctly and does not contact the firearm or another component. Follow the installation instructions for torque values, screw-length checks, and optional thread locker guidance.
